Click on a country and you&#8217;ll get more information about the virus outbreak there, with numbers of active\/recovered\/fatal cases, as well as news and videos. For the U.S., you&#8217;ll also get a breakdown of confirmed cases per state.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The site doesn&#8217;t offer anything significantly different from similar trackers we&#8217;ve seen \u2014 Johns Hopkins university&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.jhu.edu\/map.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">live map<\/a> is still one of the best resources out there \u2014 but it&#8217;s fast, clean and mobile friendly. Also, the &#8220;News&#8221; tab for individual countries currently doesn&#8217;t show anything.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"see-also\">\n<p class=\"see-also-link\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/coronavirus-wfh-commute-uber-public-transit\/?utm_cid=a-seealso\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coronavirus and \u2018work from home\u2019 policies have messed with ride-sharing and public transit<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The site was a team effort from Microsoft Bing employees <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/microsoft-bing-team-launches-covid-19-tracker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">working from home<\/a>, and the data comes from sources such as the the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Alphabet&#8217;s Verily <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectbaseline.com\/study\/covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">launched<\/a> a coronavirus screening website for the Santa Clara and San Mateo counties in California. And while the site is currently very limited in scope, Verily says it&#8217;s &#8220;working to rapidly expand testing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The program is in its early stages, and we will take the time to assess operations at pilot sites in the Bay Area before rolling out to additional sites. We are working closely with Governor Newsom\u2019s office, federal authorities and local public health authorities to ensure we have the right capabilities in place to help more people over the coming weeks,&#8221; Verily said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.verily.com\/2020\/03\/verily-in-collaboration-with-california.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog post<\/a> on its website.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for the screener, users must be U.S. residents aged 18 or older, with a Google Account, and they must be willing to share health information with Google.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The coronavirus has so far <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/world\/live-news\/coronavirus-outbreak-03-16-20-intl-hnk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">killed more than 6,500<\/a> and infected more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/covid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">169,661<\/a> people.
