An Australian supermarket has attempted to curb the incessant amount of toilet paper purchases in order to stop people bulk-buying leaving shelves empty.<\/p>\n<p>Aldi has restricted customer purchases on all items to four per customer, to maintain the flow of supply and demand and give others a chance to buy items that have previously been swiped by overzealous buyers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">To help improve access to toilet paper for our customers, we have limited the purchase of all toilet paper lines to one pack per customer.<\/p>\n<p>We ask our customers to remember to show kindness, empathy and calmness when shopping with us. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eyL5wwfyQ3\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/eyL5wwfyQ3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 ALDI Australia (@ALDIAustralia) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ALDIAustralia\/status\/1236811518047551488?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 9, 2020<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>However, customers are &#8220;hacking&#8221; the system by using their children to buy extra items, lining them up in queues and pretending to not be with them. He said: \u201cWe have taken action to discourage people buying more than they need. \u201cCustomers are currently limited to buying four items of any one product during each visit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is still significantly more than most customers would buy in a normal shopping trip and we hope this temporary restriction will give as many customers as possible the opportunity to get what they need, every time they visit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure, like me, you are also concerned about those who are vulnerable at this time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot everyone has the financial or practical resources to buy in bulk, including our elderly customers. We all have a responsibility to ensure we only buy what we and our families need.
