That&#8217;s the situation we&#8217;re living in as we <a href=\"https:\/\/me.mashable.com\/science\/9571\/the-most-important-thing-to-know-about-social-distancing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">socially distance<\/a> during the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/emergencies\/diseases\/novel-coronavirus-2019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coronavirus (COVID-19)<\/a> pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the UK, we are currently under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lockdown<\/a>, and we&#8217;re only allowed to leave the house for food, health reasons, or work \u2013 or to do one form of daily exercise.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In order to fulfil this last criteria, one street in the north west of England is doing something called &#8220;socially distant dancing&#8221; from their driveways and doorsteps.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elsa Williams, who lives on the dance-loving street in question, posted a video of the neighbours dancing to Tom Jones&#8217; &#8220;It&#8217;s Not Unusual.&#8221; Great music choice.<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-wrapper sort-rerender\">\n<div>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Socially distant dancing happens every day on our road at 11am during <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/lockdown?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#lockdown<\/a>. In the UK, the government is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people\/guidance-on-social-distancing-for-everyone-in-the-uk-and-protecting-older-people-and-vulnerable-adults\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">advising<\/a> everyone to stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times, unless you live with them. \u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"see-also\">\n<p class=\"see-also-link\">SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/coronavirus-streamed-fitness-classes\/?utm_cid=a-seealso\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coronavirus makes livestreamed dance and fitness classes a bittersweet necessity<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Williams explained that the woman in the middle of the road is a local fitness instructor named Janet Woodcock, who leads the sessions.<\/p>\n<p>She added that &#8220;distance dancing&#8221; only lasts 10 minutes a day so as to cause minimal noise disturbance. &#8220;Mostly our road is kids and elderly residents who are self isolating so they look forward to it.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-wrapper sort-rerender\">\n<div>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">It was only meant to be a one time thing, but it lifted people round here up a bit and they wanted more.
