And, the UAE sadly offers one of the fewest time periods for paid leave &#8211; a mere 45 days, while new dads only have 3 days.<\/p>\n<p>Compare that to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/search?q=maternity+leave+across+the+globe&amp;safe=active&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=isch&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjs44nQrdrjAhXCSRUIHREzAJ0Q_AUIESgB&amp;biw=1440&amp;bih=636#imgrc=8uaD2AEL9COFFM:\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">52+ weeks in place in countries across Europe<\/a> and it seems like we have a bit of a problem. However, a company founded in India and operating in the UAE is making waves of change for new parents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zomato.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Zomato<\/a>&#8216;s new policy sees both fathers and mothers entitled to a minimum of 26 weeks of paid leave. This policy also extends non-birthing parents, such as those involving cases of surrogacy or adoption. I also believe that young parents should be able to make a choice on how to care for their children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the lack of universal paid parental leave currently makes it complicated for many parents to effectively lead a healthy family life, and focus on their careers at the same time. It takes a village to raise a child.
